Sweet stories on Magheru

A walk on Magheru can be a classic treat for the locals and a true delight for foreign tourists looking beyond the new, a time of stories, of elegance and small details. Here, each space has its own identity from the first café to the last gallery. And every place with identity, there are people with personality.

It’s impossible not to stop for a few seconds to admire storefront of the Leonidas store on Magheru and whoever  enters, leaves his body in Romania while his mind flies in Belgium. Nadia Priboi, the store manager, reviewed every detail and made sure that its employees do not see their job as a duty but a pleasure to test, communicate and tell the story behind the brand Leonidas.

With a look which inevitably makes you think of Marion Cotillard, Nadia is a powerful woman and she shows this through a characteristic security and elegance when she starts talking about entrepreneurship. She is a former police officer and she wanted to start a delicate and distinctive business for her own pleasures. The idea to open a Leonidas store came only in 2011, when she was in Amsterdam,  at a Andre Rieu concert and entered such a store. She did not care for a moment that she was not the first nor the last to open such a store in Bucharest, she  understood its advantages and further exploited them.

Opening the shop after Leonidas announce the  change of design and color palette for furniture, packaging and being connected to the latest trends in the chocolate, Nadia Priboi considers herself above all, passionate and then an entrepreneur.

Risks with lots of zeros

From the moment she decided to walk down this road, six months have passed until she found the  location she imagine on Magheru, she invested 20,000 euros and smiles when he says that “you invest all the time. There isn’t a moment  you want to say you’re done with the investment. Such store is a risk and if you do not have a dose of courage you will never succeed ” . Above all, if people could manage  without some of the clothes, supplies, accessories, they can not give up on the the small pleasures: wine, chocolates, certain foods. And if the demands vary from one area to another, certain products are not sold at all, while others are required more and more, at the shop Leonidas on Magheru the customers require all the products. Locating the shop in the city centre  is a prime contributing factor to this, and then, flow of important people that pass its door step: from those with a tight budget buying pralines for a few RON  to people who spend a few hundred RON on a box of chocolates.

Packaging sells

As a wise tailor who measured ten times before he cut once, Nadia Priboi knows that another element that distinguishes the relationship with customers, you have to understand them when they do not know what they want. It happens since forever, the packaging sells the products. And success means to create an elegant, warm, welcoming  space for people to sweet experiences, literally.
