Gorgeous painting techniques
Luxury and art become, at a certain point in time, interdependent. True art is a luxury, just like appreciating and understanding the art and the artist behind it is a part of luxury. The most valuable paintings are real colour, techniques and instruments experiences. Therefore, we present to you the three most interesting painting techniques:
Grisaille:
Is the technique which emphasizes on three-dimensional effects, obtained with a spectacular light and shadow play. All of them in a grey-scale. If, at first glance it produces the illusion of a sculpture or a relievo, at a closer look, we will notice the brilliant way the viewer’s eye can be deceived. The technique was used to imitate classic sculptures, to decorate walls and ceilings at the end of the 18th century, and now it is used to make the layer beneath the translucent colours.
(Egg) Tempera:
Although well-known, especially in iconography, this technique is not as widely used as we might be inclined to believe. That is because it requires a lot of patience and experience, both of which are harder and harder to obtain in the present society. It is one of the oldest and most long-lasting styles of painting, maybe even permanent, due to its particular humidity and temperature change resistance. But, even though apparently it dries up fast, a work made using tempera is completely dried after one whole year.
Action painting:
Spontaneity and feeling. These are the two defining words for this technique. Also known as the ”gestural abstraction”, it is based on the surrealist principles, according to which the painting is not a product, but a process, a long way of creation, during which the artist’s feelings and struggles are reflected in the splashing, the dribbling of the paint, applying the color according to the emotional context. In other words, a technique of the instinct and the creative wildness.
Naturally, each and every painting style is backed up by special materials and instruments, their grandeur and impressiveness also depending on the quality of the products used. Some of the most popular brands are Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Amsterdam and Decorfin. In Romania, they can be found in the Rembrandt shops, the only Talens importer.
