Cars, beyond their utility, are also a sign of power, elegance and style which display one’s social status. People are prone to spend racking money just to be the proud owners of a nice car. However, if we talk about the most expensive car in the world ever sold in auction, the price may take your breath away: Mercedes Benz W196 was sold in July 2013 for $ 29,6 million. Being built in 1954 and having won 9 out of 12 races, it represents a very important part in the history of automobiles. Juan Manuel Fangio came through two Formula 1 races driving this car, which is also the only W196 not exibited in a museum, but owned by a private person.
