God save The Queen and all her jewels

“God save The Queen” is probably the most famous anthem of a country.  The English conservatism succeeded in keeping the royalty intact, which seems to have a more and more important role, even in these modern times, proving adaptability to the way in which societies evolve.

Apart from all the responsibilities that Queen Elisabeth II has, she also has the advantage of being the owner of one of the most impressive and elegant treasures in this world: the jewelry of the British Crown.  This is very important to British people because it is used in coronations, but also in other important occasions that the Queen takes part to.

This treasure is composed by four central elements:  two scepters, one with a cross, other with a dove and the orb, all of them created in 1661 and kept in perfect condition by the Royal House.  However, the most important piece is the crown which is a real masterpiece, a work of art that denotes luxury and good taste. The crown is made entirely from gold, also having in its composition 2868 diamonds, 273 pearls, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds and 5 rubies, all of them disposed in a perfect manner in order to create a unique and impressive jewel.

Being taken in consideration the value and the importance of this jewelry, the safety is increased. The jewelry of the Royal Crown is kept in the Tower of London where armed guardians protect the world’s most famous treasure. This is a symbol of elegance, glamour and power, which are specific elements of the Royal life.
